Ontbijt @ hostal Valencia
Today we took a plane to Santiago de Cuba... we had one hour delay and while we were waiting i drunk some pure rum. Just something i wanted to have done – but lets say i prefer it much better in 'a mojito' so i only took a few sips of the pure rum... heavy stuff.
In Santiago de Cuba, we stay in a official "Casa Particulares", which really means you stay in a spare bedroom in someone's house... - Mostly a better option than a hotel – its more personal, they will prepare the food you like... Lets say its like being at home but you are served like "mums little princess" ;-)
We stay at Célina & Alberto's place...
We are tired and very hungry... i know, that is a very bad combination for me (and also for Greet & Gwen), so we quickly walked in the direction of parque Cespedes –
We ate on the terras of Hotel Casa Grande overlooking the square & the "Cathedral Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion".
After a shower we clime on the roof of our Casa to plan the rest of our route & travellings.
From the roof you have a great vieuw over the street...
in Cuba in the city's, everybody here lives on their doorstep till late... Woman are chatting away (sometimes with big things in there hair wit loads of curls as a result), children are playing, man are playing some sort of dam-game... Your hear televisions, people are playing music... - Even in the city's here there is much more of a "community-atmosphere"...
Our laundry is -as we speak- being done by a neighbour. Célina said its a single mum who is studying to become a doctor and who can use the extra money... and thats just how things go here.
