Our last day in Baracoa. We will take around midday a bus to S.de Cuba & from there a connection to Trinidad. Normally it will takes like 20hours on our way/on the bus. A long time,... thats why we still feel like doing something in the morning. We take an "aranged taxi" (aranged by the lady of our casa) towards playa Duaba, only 6km outside Baracoa.
Playa Duaba is set on a estuary, the beach itself is scrubby grey, and surounded by palmtrees and in the background you also see the Mountains... beautiful place. The waves in the sea where gigantic, so we couldn't swim in the sea, but we (Greet & me) did swim in the estuary. Two little Cuban girls are swimming & playing on the beach – they are lovely and Gwen gives them a nice pen each.
In a side stream, a lady is doing her laundry.
We swim, chill and just enjoy the area.
The driver takes us back, we take a shower, say goodbye to the lady of our casa and her family.
The driver brings us to the station, we pay and receive our booked tickets and go for one last meal in la punta before we take the bus.
De 5hour drive to S.de Cuba takes at least one hour longer – the bus broke down... we miss our connection to Trinidad, so we have to go around a longer way. We take the nightbus to Sancta Spiritus and from there we will have a connection to Trinidad – hopefully...
